My Camera Dock Sucks
I shouldn't let my lack of pictures stop me from blogging....I took some this morning for my new FO (gasp!) and my current WiP, but I can't figure out why my camera dock isn't working. Bugger.
The FO is a pair of Saartje's Booties, and the WiP, of course, the blankie.
I finished the third ball of Cream and did some rough calculations; using a total of six balls of yarn for the blankie would give me a finished size of 36", while five would end up being 33". After scoping out some baby blanket patterns around the intarsphere, I found both fell within acceptable range for blankies, so I went with the option that let me do the booties!
Of course, without the pictures to show you what I mean about certain things I'd planned on talking about, there is quite a bit less to talk about..... (sigh)
So I'll add a bit about cooking. (snark!)
I sometimes wonder if I'm not a bit too suggestible. There's a thread over at Knitty about apples, and apple butter was mentioned several times. Now, I love raw apples, but I've always hated the texture of cooked apples. No apple pie or applesauce for me, no sirree! But as I was reading, and then later searching for recipes, I kept thinking, well, you cook apple butter about a million times longer, so it must have a different texture....
...and I was right. I bought another sack of apples to go with the one in my fridge, and off I went.
It was a very interesting process. Nothing went into my crockpot at first but thinly sliced apples and sugar. I knew that the moisture from the apples would dissolve the sugar eventually, but what I wasn't expecting was the moment about two hours in, when I went to stir it, and the apple slices just disintegrated under my spoon. One second there were apples floating in syrup--the next it was a sweet-smelling tub of goo. Yummy goo.
I think it's time for tea and toast with apple butter, don't you?

Ohhhh....I haven't had apple butter in a very long time. I bet it smelled great in your house if you were doing it in a crock pot. I never thought of trying to make it that way.
Good Luck with your camera dock. You reminded me that I need to get my new WIP posted on my blog. ;-)
I had to delete my last comment. I couldn't spell!
